My Story:
I have a simple challenging story with exam 070-553 which I’m going to review its preparation software provided by uCertify. I passed this exam on 2006. I didn’t prepare for it. I was moving beside an exam center then I decided to take the exam. And I took it on the same day. Challenging my knowledge and experience, I hardly passed this exam with score 700.
Today and after 2 years, I found this exam preparation and test simulation software from uCertify, I wonder what would be my life and how would be my score if such product were available at that time. I would simply use my knowledge with assist of this product and pass the exam, gaining much more score I’m sure.

When you first open M70-553 console the following screen will appear:
I can categorize it into 3 sections:
- Tests Section
- Progress tracking and Readiness Section
- Knowledge base and knowledge enhancement section
I will explore & overview each section showing what each section would provide.
Tests Section:
This section contains several types of tests. On every test there are 2 modes which you can choose before taking the test. They are Leaning mode where you can get a feedback immediately after you answer, and there is Test mode, where you can review all your answers at the end of the exam. On each test you can adjust number of questions as well as passing score.
Learning mode
Below is the type of tests available
- Diagnostic Test:
You can check and evaluate your knowledge by taking 15 questions as a startup to evaluate yourself. This test is designed to assess your current level of preparedness. It will help you focus on your weak areas and plan your test preparation accordingly.
- Set of Practice Tests:
Practice tests are predefined test. The total of these tests are 5. Each test contains 30 questions so the total will be 150 questions. - Final Test:
Final test contains 40 questions with fixed time and can only be taken in Test Mode. So you cannot switch to learn mode on this test. It is designed to be more difficult than the actual one provided by Microsoft. Attempting this test will surely provide you the confidence to pass your certification exams in the first attempt. - Adaptive Test:
Here is fun one, in this test your first question will have an average difficult level. Based on your answer; if correct you’ll be presented with higher difficulty level. If incorrect you’ll be presented with a question of a lower difficulty level. Because of the nature of this text type, there will be no way back to previouse question. - Custome Test:
I can see this a very wonderful option as it allows you creat your own test. So you can creat test based on your weak points. Custom Test Generation tool gives you very good options like creating tests based on Objectives as well as your notes or tags you set during your exam tours. You can modify your questions pool by removing or adding additional questions.
Progress Tracking and readiness section:
In this section you can track your test history and evaluate your skills on each test or on each objective the Exam 070-553 tests.
Under Track your history you can view all your test attempts and your score on each test. You have also the ability to apply some actions on each test you had taken; like Review all questions or review incorrect answers only. You can also retest wrong answers or retest the whole test.
Under tracking your progress you’ll find Test history to review your performance on any test and there is a readiness report by test and by objectives. The Readiness Report by test displays an overview of your performance on each test. Giving you options to retest your wrong answers or retest your correct ones. Also you can take a test on all an unattempted questions or retest all questions.

Knowledge base and knowledge enhancement section:
Although this is the final section I’m going to review, but it should be the first section to be reviewed after taking your diagnostic test; this is in my personal opinion. What does this section will provide you?
The answer isn’t hard; simply this section will enhance your knowledge and enrich your understanding to the exam objectives through different subjects available under this section.
What you’ll find under this section?
- Exam objectives, the key areas and skills required to focus on your preparation. This is very detailed and subjective.
- Interactive quiz, validate your knowledge on the key concepts. Consists of 140 quiz items. This is a learn mode test. You select number of questions from each objective to evaluate yourself on. Then start the test. Just like any other test, at the end you’ll review your score card and the results will be available under Test History as well as Readiness Reports.
- Flash card, memorize key concepts easily through 304 flash cards. There are no multiple choice on this questions on this section, you type your answer as free text, then review your answer immediately to compare between model answer and your answer. As you move through this quiz questions, you’ll notice the on each question it specifies what objective exactly this question tries to cover.
- Study Notes, with 265 study notes you can be easily prepared for any subject. In this section, you can switch between 2 modes, Questions mode and Notes mode. Questions mode is not an actual test, it is learning mode test of 253 questions, but actually never register your results in test history. However if you ended the test, you’ll find your evaluation under Readiness Report section. So it keeps tracking of your answers. It is important to note that the 253 questions are the same questions divided on all tests mentioned earlier. Study notes also can be used to create custom tests. As there are certain number of questions related to one or more study notes. You might pick certain study notes and start creating a custom test using them.
- Articles, goes beyond the basics, but actually it contains only 2 articles so far. However the product is updatable through internet, so later you may find more articles.
- Study Tips, few tips that are supposed to assist you to get your certificate from the first attempt.
- How Tos, this will take your beyond the certification showing and teaching your how to do things the proper way. Also comes with Questions mode, which contains 12 questions.
Common Features:
After we had an overview of each section and subsections, it worth to mention that there are some features that is considered common on all sections or between certain parts of this product.
Rating and Feedback: uCertify value your opinion, so you might find something or wish to comment on something such as a question, a study note or anything similar. You can use the feedback feature that is available on items such as questions or study notes. On the other hand you can rate items. This will help
Tagging: The "Tag" option helps you retrieve questions based on a particular tag. So it will ease creating custom tests for example or focus to review questions tagged with certain tag.
My Notes: You might wish to add some private notes to return to while studying or having a test. You can add a note to each item like questions or a study note.
